Today, I thought I would keep it simple and sweet and tell you about what a day in my life looks like.
I'll be facing a massive change in the near future, which you will hear more about soon, but before it happens, I wanted to register what my daily life looks like right now.
7am to 8:30am
If you're married or live with your significant other, you'll relate. I am a person that needs and loves to get lots of sleep. This means I go to bed around 23:00 or midnight to wake up around 8:30.
At 6:30, my partner's alarm goes off but the one it awakes it's me. And he has another 5 ready to go.
So after half an hour of alarms going off, he gets up, gets dressed, and goes to work. By that point, I'm already half awake anyway so sometimes I get up as well but sometimes I make a point to keep sleeping until 8:30.
When it rolls around, I brush my teeth, get dressed, and go for my morning walk with my dog. It typically lasts an hour or however long we are willing to take the heat for, on hotter days.
9:30am to 11:00am
When we get back home, I feed and change her water and then it's on to making the bed, washing some clothes, and vacuuming the floor, before starting work. I may or may not have breakfast, but I like to do intermittent fasting and it works very well for me. I do eat enough as the day goes on.
As I mentioned here, I've been working part-time for a lovely small fashion company and I decided to work from 11 am to 16 am, with a 1-hour lunch break.
That schedule won't last forever and it's part of the big change in my near future, but that's life right this second. :)
13:00 to 14:00
During my lunch breaks, I typically go for a quick second walk of the day with the dog, just long enough for her to go to the bathroom.
Once I'm back, I typically make myself a quick lunch with whatever protein I left marinating in the fridge the night before. I may or may not have a can of RedBull to keep me from sleeping during the day, especially after lunch, and it's work time again.
14:00 to 16:00
This portion of my work time is typically the one where we have an open call and chit-chat about our tasks or just life in general. I like to call the fake office. As a remote worker, it's important for me to have this sort of contact with my work peers and be as social as I can. Highly recommend.
16:00 to 19:00
When work is done for the day, it is the time I tackle all the leftover chores that I could not get to earlier, work on blog posts, and have some cozy gameplay sessions at my partner's PC (cries in MacBook owner). By 7 pm, babe gets home and it's on to dinner prep. Oh and the dog gets another walk.
19:00 to 22:00
We are BIG on prepping dinner together as part of our routine. He is also a huge supermarket enthusiast and takes his time when perusing the aisles. Every. Single. Time.
We both cook pretty decently but he takes pride in experimenting and taking time to make his meals. We do meal prep from time to time and we love to try recipes we see on Insta or Tiktok.
If we are feeling fancy, we pour ourselves a couple of glasses of wine while chatting, kind of like on a date night.
We talk about our days, and how was work. We discuss plans for the weekend, places we want to go to, etc...
Planning these things works well for us because we rarely go out during the week. And since we know almost no one in the small town we are living in, it also leads us to think about who we want to call over to dinner, who we want to go out with, if we might be going to my hometown that weekend, etc...
22:00 to 00:00
Baby dog gets her final walk of the day, again, just long enough for a bathroom break. We shower, he goes to his PC and stays there well past the time I'm already asleep. While I'm awake, though, I organize clothes for the next day, journal, and doom scroll until I'm sleepy enough to put everything else away.
I'm trying to reduce the doom scrolling, but not so efficiently, might I add.
And that's a day in my life
Simple and sweet, as I promised. I think this will be a time in my life I will reminisce fondly about when things get a little more hectic again, so why not cherish it while it's here, right?
How about you? Is your day similar to mine? Did you expect my days to be like this? Let's chat in the comments!
