The impatience within
I don't about you, but I'm highly impatient about most things in my life.
Achieving growth and patience is a delicate balance that many of us struggle to find. I have an urge for things to start happening, or I'll make them happen myself. That can be a great quality to have in so many situations, right? It shows proactiveness, initiative, and attitude.
But what about when we actually need time for things to come to fruition?

If you start an online boutique today with no previous following or built community, chances are you'll not see that much money come in for the first six months to a year, or even longer.
If you start a new social media account today, you probably won't have 1,000 followers next week.
And I won't expect to make millions, or even a couple thousand dollars with this blog in the first year.
This past nine months taught me a lot, but especially about waiting, taking care of what is important, dedicating my time and energy to what I believe in, and trusting that my efforts will become results in the future.
The lessons of waiting and believing in achieving growth and patience
Life has a funny way of teaching us patience when we least expect it. It's almost as if the universe conspires to make us wait for the things we desire most. It's in these moments of waiting that we have the opportunity to grow, refine our skills, and build a solid foundation for our dreams.
Dealing with unemployment and having moved to a completely different city where I didn't know almost anyone, I knew I was starting a phase of internal growth and being at peace with myself. It was very hard, but it allowed me to get to know my interests better and see what made sense for me to pursue.
Patience here came in the form of trying to keep a positive mindset and knowing that this difficult phase would eventually go away.
As for that new social media account, I've started several on multiple platforms during my unemployment, and to be honest, I expected way more followers than what I gained in the first 3 months. I tried to resist the urge to obsess over follower counts, but failed miserably and gave up on it.
I understood that building a genuine and engaged audience takes time, and those who rushed the process often ended up with empty, inactive followers. It was my case.
And this blog, my passion project, became my labor of love. I poured my heart and soul into every post, knowing that building a readership and monetizing it would require persistence and consistency. While it didn't bring in the instant financial rewards I initially hoped for, it became a platform for self-expression and a source of personal fulfillment.
Through it all, I learned that success is not measured solely by rapid achievement but by the journey itself.
Patience isn't just the ability to wait; it's the ability to maintain a positive attitude and continue working towards your goals while you wait. It's a valuable skill that helps us appreciate the process and enjoy the small victories along the way.
So, if you find yourself in a situation where you're impatient for results, take a step back and remind yourself that the most beautiful things in life often take time to blossom.
Trust the process, keep nurturing your dreams, and know that your efforts will indeed yield results in due time.
